Fallen veteran oak. Chatsworth, Derbyshire.

A fallen veteran oak in the Old Deer Park at Chatsworth. This is a fascinating place with numerous oak trees up to 600+ years old.
There is no public access to this area but the Duke generously allowed the British Lichen Society access in 2011 in order to continue a survey which we started
2 years before, finding new county records and a new English record - a testament to the long history of the site and the sensitive management carried out by the Estate.
